Welcome to the first editionPrint
Welcome to the first edition of Airbus The Buzz, created by Airbus Americas for Airbus Americas’ customers.
Airbus is proud to have been a part of the North American aviation scene since our first A300B was delivered to Eastern Airlines back in 1977. Today, there are more than 1,200 Airbus aircraft in service with 16 operators in the USA and Canada, and we have a backlog of over 650 aircraft still to deliver. In addition, Airbus spent $14.4 billion in commercial aircraft related procurement in the U.S. last year, making us the largest export customer to the U.S. aerospace industry, as well as supporting over 245,000 American jobs. Our goal is to work in partnership with our North American operators and suppliers, and to deepen this relationship in the coming years. Our commitment is amply demonstrated by the launch and construction of our first North American final assembly line in Mobile, Alabama. This facility is scheduled to deliver its first U.S.-assembled A320 Family aircraft in 2016. I can’t wait to be in Mobile for that first hand-over ceremony – it will be a special day in Airbus Americas’ history.
It’s clear this is a significant market for Airbus, and our relationship with our airline customers is very important to us. Nothing can or will ever replace Airbus employees’ personal interactions with our customers—we value you and those interactions too much. But as we can’t be with you all of the time, we’ve created this newsletter to help keep you current about Airbus products, market trends, industry innovations and more. Rest assured we won’t be inundating you with emails—Airbus The Buzz will be issued approximately every other month and will contain five concise sections. I hope that you will learn something new from reading each issue.
We hope that in time, Airbus The Buzz will become a go-to source for topical Airbus information focused on the North American market.
Your feedback is always valuable—we welcome ideas for articles and any questions about what you read. It’s easy to contact us by email at email@example.com, or through your normal Airbus contacts.
And we have already received some feedback before publication, thus the name of this publication will be Airbus The Buzz.
